Unquiet Ghosts

blackbirds

Did I run freely enough inside
to arm a ghost with it, I wonder,
while birds whirled overhead
and many a human eye was amazed
and my body was not my money for a moment.
Oh,
I was off that wheel already in a
galactic juice my mother never fed me,
but when a tapestry came by
after tons of steel I buckled,
I cared, I gave
because I was every character
and every creature.  Love spoke to me
clearly till no other voice rang true
enough to lead me anywhere else.
