Today when butterflies as white
as bandaged bread arrived for us
among the weeds that stain our house
with green guitars I found my voice
to tell you how I made a choice
between the waters meant to douse
and those held fast by Cerberus,
as though a delicate and slight
nasturtium flowered in our home
demure as fabled genii,
alone like proven lacunae,
and lasting as the ocean foam
that gathers power from the air
and leaves its fragrance everywhere.

Oops. Hey again Rose. When I posted ‘november’ the other day I meant November 0f 2017 when we’ll see each other at Ned and Chloe’s wedding.
